Cabrillo Boulevard

Cabrillo Boulevard is the scenic waterfront boulevard running directly alongside the Pacific Ocean. The area connects from the Zoo to the Harbor with restaurants, hotels, Stearns Wharf, parks, a skatepark, and plenty of opens space in between. There is a bike path that connects the entirety of the road. The boulevard provides access to East Beach (popular for volleyball), West Beach, and Leadbetter Beach (a favorite for beginner surfers). An arts and craft show happens on Sundays as well as the large Chromatic Gate: A massive, rainbow-colored art installation by Herbert Bayer located in Arcohella Park, which is a popular spot for photos.

  • 2.5 mile stretch from the Harbor to the Zoo, about a 60 minute walk.
  • Bike path along the route separate from the sidewalk that continues up to Shoreline Park.
  • Dog friendly, open spaces with grass along the beach.
  • Parking lots and restrooms along the boulevard.
  • Santa Barbara Arts and Crafts Show: Every Sunday (and holiday Saturdays), local artisans line the sidewalk along East Cabrillo Boulevard to sell handmade jewelry, photography, and paintings.
